Sainsbury’s proposals for Eastleigh town centre

Following a very positive response to public consultation, Sainsbury’s proposals to regenerate and revitalise the Leigh Road area of Eastleigh town centre have moved a step closer with the submission of a planning application.

Our proposals include:

• The replacement of our existing store with a larger, modern Sainsbury’s
• Increased town centre car parking
• Improvements to Leigh Road Recreation Ground
• A new bus station and taxi rank
• A new town square
• Enhanced pedestrian and cycle links

Our proposals would make Eastleigh more attractive for shopping and leisure activities, helping it compete more effectively with other towns. Our investment in the town would also create new jobs, helping to support the local economy.
